Maple Publications

"New" starting in 2008, VMSMA members can apply for a subscription to "The Maple News" or "The Maple Digest" when filling out their membership application. Both papers have a section for "Classified Ads" which are very handy for finding maple related equipment.

The Maple Digest is the official publication of the NAMSC. Reports on new research being done at the Proctor Maple Research Center, or any other maple research center, which has received any financial help from the North American Maple Syrup Council will now be published in this paper.

The Maple News is a privately owned publication that does a great job reporting on maple news from all over our industry.

Co-Operative Insurance Company Group Discount Program

The Vermont Maple Sugar Markers' Association has negotiated a group insurance plan with the Co-operative Insurance Company. VMSMA members (with the exception of non-voting members) who have paid their current membership dues will be eligible to participate in the Co-operative Insurance Company's group discount insurance plan. A VMSMA member who qualifies for this plan will be able to receive a 10% discount on your home, mini-farm and auto insurance policies. Some farm policies may also qualify for a credit. Anyone who already has a policy with the Co-op and who qualifies will be eligible for the discount at the time of your policy renewal. Vehicle Discount Program

All current VMSMA members, (voting, non-voting and honorary) now have the opportunity to purchase a new Ford, Lincoln, Mercury or Hyundai from Gateway Motors in White River Jct. VT. By purchasing any of these vehicles Gateway Motors can sell any member either an ordered vehicle or one in-stock for $200.00 over invoice. If there are any available customer rebates or incentives the savings will be passed on to the purchaser. Trade-in's will be accepted, but they will need to see the vehicle at Gateway Motors in order to get the highest trade-in value. If there is no trade-in and a member wants to deal with their local dealer, and if the local dealer will accept a "Dropped Shipped Vehicle", Gateway Motors can order and have the vehicle dropped from the factory to their local dealer. Gateway sells vehicles to Towns, Municipalities and Fleet Customers all over Vermont and other states.

Maple Syrup Containers

The Vermont Maple Sugar Makers' Association makes available to their members only a complete line of premium "metal" and "plastic" maple syrup containers. The VMSMA receives a royalty from the sales of these containers, this money is used to help fund their yearly budget. There are 5 different sizes of metal containers for maple syrup, starting with a half pint tin and going all the way up to a one-gallon container. These containers are lined with a special food-grade coating so the syrup will not make contact with the metal and pick-up an off-flavor.

We offer 6 different sizes of plastic containers for maple syrup and 2 different size containers for maple cream. The smallest size is a 3.4 oz. jug (great for stocking stuffers) and goes up to a one-gallon container. We only sell plastic maple syrup containers that have been covered with a special "XL Coating", this coating prevents oxygen from getting into the container and causing you to lose the vacuum seal that's needed to keep the syrup fresh before the jug has been opened for the first time. We also carry a half-pound and one-pound plastic container for pure maple cream.

The design on the outside of these famous and well-recognized containers is owned by VMSMA and can only be used by our members.
