Carbon Forest Walk

Join us in the woods. Save the date.

July 11th, 4-6pm at Mance Family Tree Farm

Join Audubon VT, Vermont Woodlands Association, and Alissa (Al) Freeman from UVM's Rubenstein School of Environmental and Natural Resources as they bring together maple producers to better understand the topic of forest/sugarbush carbon.

Al will begin by covering the carbon basics—carbon pools, carbon storage, and carbon sequestration as well as the basics of carbon markets. She’ll then discuss both passive management approaches and active management approaches that can be implemented in sugarbushes to achieve multiple goals.

Throughout the tour, the groups will actively engage with the tour participants to talk through what they’re seeing and how they would implement strategies to improve or maintain resilient carbon on the landscape.
