During our Open House, we will serve Fresh Sugar-On-Snow, donuts, and freshly made maple syrup samples.  We will also have samples of maple sugar, maple cream, and maple candy.  In addition, Jaret and Jessica will be giving tours of the sugarhouse and could also be convinced to give tours of the sugar woods.  In addition, we may have a special visitor on one of the days.

The Lunenburg Annual Maple Festival celebrates an important heritage – an understanding and appreciation for all that goes into the process of “sugaring” and the historical importance of our sugarmakers in the town of Lunenburg Vermont. Join in the 19th year of this celebration - a day immersed in maple!

"Meet" the generations of our local sugarmakers through photographic and interactive displays, which also chronicle all that goes into the sugaring process. Admire the expressions of maple by Lunenburg School students, take chances on raffles, purchase maple cotton candy, Lunenburg and maple theme products, including Lunenburg T-shirts.

Boiling, Tastings & Outdoor Fun

Visit the sugarhouse to watch boiling, ask questions, and enjoy fresh syrup tastings. Free treats include sugar-on-snow, homemade maple donuts, pickles, and other samples. See traditional wood-fired boiling with no RO or filter press, and most sap still gathered the old-fashioned way. Time permitting, take a ride through the woods or help gather sap. Trails are groomed for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and tobogganing—bring your own equipment.

Directions: From Westfield Village at the Common, follow signs toward Jay Peak (the shortcut from Westfield to Jay). About ½ mile up the hill on the left is the sugarhouse in the same driveway as the house (North Hill Storage). From Jay Village, take the cross road toward Westfield and continue straight down the hill to the sugarhouse (about 3 miles).
