Forest Management and Bird-Friendly Maple at Smokey House Center

Join Audubon Vermont for a tour of Smokey House Center's new research and education sugarbush and a conversation around bird-friendly forest management in active sugarbushes.

Fen Levy-O'Malley, who helps run Audubon's Bird-Friendly Maple Program, will discuss the benefits of the program, the role forest management can play in building resilience and increasing bird habitat in sugarbushes, and more. Smokey House Center staff will showcase the 12 experimental silviculture treatment blocks established this year that will explore long-term impacts of forest management in sugarbushes.

It will be a great day in the woods filled with learning and conversation for foresters, maple producers, and bird enthusiasts!
