Bennington County Sugar Makers Annual Summer Meeting
Join fellow maple producers for the Bennington County Sugar Makers Annual Summer Meeting on Thursday, August 6, from 4:00–8:00 PM at Merck Forest & Farmland Center in Rupert. This gathering is a great opportunity to connect with other sugar makers, learn about the latest developments in maple production, and enjoy an evening together before the busy season begins.
Program Highlights
- Presentation by Mark Isselhardt on the UVM Maple Quality Lab, including the services available to Vermont maple producers and how the lab can help improve syrup quality.
- A short business meeting to elect a director and alternate for Bennington County.
- Hydrometer testing—bring your hydrometer to have its accuracy checked.
- Plenty of time to connect with fellow producers, share ideas, and catch up with neighbors from around the county.
Potluck Dinner
We’ll gather for a relaxed potluck meal. Please bring:
- Your own protein to grill (burgers, hot dogs, steak, veggie burgers, etc.)
- A side dish, appetizer, or dessert to share with the group.
- Legal beverages for your own consumption.
The association will provide the grills, condiments, and beverages.
Whether you’re a longtime producer or new to maple, we hope you’ll join us for an evening of education, good food, and great company!
