Silk Road Covered Bridge

Start this adventure with a drive over the quintessentially New England, Silk Covered Bridge. Constructed circa 1840, this short 88-foot bridge spans the Walloomsac River in Bennington.

Paper Mill Village Bridge

Continuing on through Bennington, you'll encounter the Paper Mill Village Bridge next. While no longer drivable, this charming, red-painted wooden bridge is worth stop for a short walk or a photo. You will notice a resemblance between this bridge and the Silk Road Covered Bridge – it's believed that they were built by a father and a son.

Glastenview Maple Farm

Glastenview Maple is the perfect stop for your first maple tasting and tour of the day. This cozy, family-sugarhouse known for its pure, wood-fire-cooked Vermont maple syrup. Visitors can enjoy a tour of the sugar shed, taste a variety of flavored and infused syrups (from classic to vanilla bean, bourbon barrel aged, and more), maple sugar, cream, and other maple treats. The owners are welcoming and knowledgeable, making it as much about learning and connecting as it is about flavor.

Chiselville Covered Bridge

Enjoy a small detour between maple tastings to see the Chiselville Covered Bridge in Arlington. Towering 40 feet above the Roaring Branch of the Batten Kill River, this red, wooden bridge has beautiful town lattice trusses and has been reinforced over the years.

This next stop will leave you filled with maple goodness and more. Dutton Berry Farm’s Manchester Center stand is a lively farm store and sugarhouse that’s part of a larger family-run operation. You’ll find fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, seasonal treats, and of course, their signature pure maple syrup available. The shop also carries maple cream, maple berries, local gifts, and a wide selection of Vermont-made products. It’s a favorite spot to stop, browse seasonal produce, and taste maple goodness in a vibrant community setting.

Located right on Main Street in Manchester, The Maple Reserve is a farmer-owned store and cozy maple café that’s a perfect stop for relaxing on your covered bridges and maple tour. You’ll find a delicious variety of maple-inspired treats, from classic maple creemees and artisan gelato to specialty bubble teas, maple cocktails, and perfectly crispy street waffles. It’s a great place to grab a coffee or light bite, shop for local maple syrup and products to take home, and soak in the warm Vermont vibe.
